![]() ![]() The room was at the end of the hallway and perfectly sized! It was not huge, but there was plenty of room to unpack our clothes and store our snacks! The shower was well oversized and probably the highlight of the room itself. She gave us the room that was not connecting without us even requesting it! Then she thanked me for being an IHG member and provided 2 drink tickets to be used at the hotel restaurant. At the front desk, we were greeted by Heather who is the poster woman for southern hospitality! She was outstanding! She had 3 king rooms available, 2 of which were connecting rooms and 1 was not. The gentleman who took care of us was friendly and offered to help with our luggage as well. We arrived about an hour or so before check-in on a Friday and did not have to wait for valet. I was happy to be able to book a package that included parking since parking as a whole in downtown Nashville is quite pricey. She had chosen the hotel and I was bummed to see that the website offered little information of value to me (pictures, nearby restaurants). My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo for 3 nights to celebrate my friend's 40th birthday. We'd be glad to stay at the Countrypolitan again. For parking, we used the valet, which is pretty pricey, if not exploitive (about $50 a night) we decided (a bit reluctantly) that that was worth it for convenience and safety. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. ![]() We went out for our meals, but we did have cocktails in the hotel bar the menu included some pretty creative concoctions, and we chose two that we liked very much. Despite being over an alleyway known for late-night entertainment, our room was quiet. Our room was right over Printers Alley, and although the view wasn't particularly inspirational, in fact rather bleakly urban, we could at least know that we were in a historic part of the city. Also we found the room lighting somewhat limited. And everything worked well, except that there was no way to coax the shower to give us water any warmer than tepid, which was a downer. All of this was clean and comfortable and convenient. Past the beds and dressers and comfy chair, to the left, was another area of our room with a microwave and fridge and closet, and then the bathroom next to that. Our room was quite impressive, almost twice the size of what we think of as a standard chain motel room. (But if you want to see the Parthenon, or go the Grand Ole Opry, you'll need a car.) Just past the reception desk of the Countrypolitan is quite a lovely lobby (renovated within the past few months, I believe) where you can also have drinks and meals. ![]() Almost all of what we wanted to see in Nashville was within easy walking distance - we walked to the Farmers Market, too, although that was a rather longer walk. It's an intelligently refurbished 19th-century bank building. The (recently renamed) Countrypolitan was a bit of a splurge for us, though we were responding to a nice promotional invitation from IHG. We hadn't visited Nashville before, and wanted to stay downtown.
